Host Vijay Sethupathi celebrated Diwali with the Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 contestants, gifting them traditional outfits. The Diwali special, filmed on November 1st, aired on November 2nd, showcasing Sethupathi in a silk shirt and dhoti. This week also saw the introduction of six wildcard entries, adding a new dynamic to the show. Sethupathi kept the contestants on edge, teasing a potential elimination until the very end.
Last week’s roleplay task, where contestants impersonated each other, was a major topic of discussion. Sethupathi questioned the housemates about their performances and whether some went overboard. He observed that the task encouraged contestants to open up more. Sunita felt Soundariya overacted, while others believed Sachana and Anishda could have done better. Among the men, Ranjith and Jeffrey felt Muthukumaran’s portrayal of Deepak was lacking.
Sethupathi then addressed Muthukumaran’s captaincy, criticizing his leadership style. Muthukumaran had solicited feedback but then declared he wouldn’t change his approach, upsetting the other housemates. Sethupathi emphasized that leadership entails responsibility and listening to feedback, calling out Muthukumaran’s rudeness. He stressed that a leader should not let their position go to their head.
Six wildcard contestants entered the Bigg Boss house on November 3rd, promising to shake things up. Riya Thiyagarajan, a model and Bigg Boss reviewer, was the first to enter.
Raanav, an actor and model, joined the house as the second wildcard entrant.
Varshini Venkat, also a model, was the third wildcard contestant to enter the Bigg Boss house.
Manjari Narayanan, an orator and IT professional, entered as the fourth wildcard contestant.
Shiva Kumarr, grandson of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan, joined as the fifth wildcard entry, hoping to gain exposure and further his acting career.
Finally, Rayan, a television actor, rounded out the wildcard entries, bringing his experience in the entertainment industry to the show.
The new contestants were tasked with evaluating the existing housemates. However, putting an end to the elimination suspense, Vijay Sethupathi announced that there would be no elimination for the Diwali week.
