“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24. Each day is a valuable and precious gift from God, filled with new mercies and opportunities. We are reminded in Matthew 6:34 not to worry about tomorrow, for today has enough troubles of its own. Even if yesterday was filled with challenges, today offers a fresh start and the potential for joy and victory. If past mistakes weigh on your conscience, God’s grace and power are available to make things right today.
Let us embrace the truth that “Today Is The Day The Lord Has Made” and find gladness in it. It is the Lord who has orchestrated this day specifically for us. He is faithful and ensures that we will not face temptations or trials beyond our capacity to endure. 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that He will provide a way of escape with every temptation. Furthermore, Romans 8:28 promises that all things work together for good for those who love God. Today, good works have been prepared for us by God, and Ephesians 2:10 affirms that we have the grace and strength to accomplish them.
We should strive to live each day with intention, as if it were our last. Today might be the only opportunity we have to demonstrate kindness, compassion, and love to others. Let us glorify Jesus in our words and actions, allowing our love to shine brightly amidst both good and evil. This is the day to persevere through challenges, endure suffering, and bear all things with joy, confident that God is sovereign and in control. Today, we choose courage over fear, focusing on the eternal rather than the temporary, knowing that our present troubles are light and momentary compared to the eternal glory that awaits us (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). “Today is the day the Lord has made,” let us rejoice and be glad in it.
