USA Today Crossword: Your Guide to Access & Subscriptions

USA Today offers a popular crossword puzzle accessible online, via their app, and dedicated crossword app. Access varies depending on user status: Unregistered, Registered, or Subscriber.

Unregistered Users have limited access, playing a new puzzle twice weekly with one letter and one word reveal hint per puzzle. Progress saves only on the same day and isn’t transferable. Archived puzzles and performance stats aren’t available, nor is ad-free access.

Registering for a free account grants Registered User status, with access to a new puzzle three times per week. Progress saves for three days across multiple devices, with three letter and word reveal hints per puzzle. Performance tracking is included, but archived puzzles and ad-free play remain unavailable.

Subscribers enjoy full access. A paid subscription unlocks daily puzzles, an ad-free experience, unlimited saves and reveals, progress syncing, performance tracking, and archived puzzles. Subscribers to other Gannett publications, including USA Today, may already have access.

Free trials are available for eligible users who haven’t subscribed recently or meet specific criteria. The 14-day trial offers full subscriber access. After the trial, users revert to Registered User status unless a paid subscription is purchased. Gannett may modify or end these offers.

Subscription payments are processed via EZ Pay, with automatic recurring billing. Cancellation can be requested anytime by contacting customer service or, in some states, online. Cancellations are effective at the end of the billing cycle, without refunds.

Customer service is available via phone, email, and an online help centre. Contact details and hours are in the terms and conditions.

Gannett’s terms and conditions outline liability limitations and dispute resolution, including a class action waiver. Review the full terms for details on access, subscriptions, and legal information.
