Cincinnati is experiencing a wave of unseasonably warm weather today, with temperatures expected to reach the mid-70s under mostly sunny skies. This near-record warmth follows a balmy Tuesday that saw temperatures climb into the mid-70s, the warmest the Tri-State area has seen since Election Day. Tuesday’s high of 76 degrees Fahrenheit was just two degrees shy of the 1990 record and a significant 25 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Cincinnati Weather Forecast: Continued Warmth and Approaching Storms
The warm weather trend will continue throughout the week. After a brief dip into the 40s overnight, Wednesday’s temperatures are projected to reach the mid-70s once again, flirting with the record high of 76 degrees set in 1990. Thursday is also anticipated to see temperatures in the 70s, but a passing front could trigger a few scattered showers or even an isolated thunderstorm later in the day.
Friday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures potentially reaching the upper 70s, again approaching record levels. However, the pleasant weather will be short-lived as a line of storms approaches from the west late Friday night and into early Saturday morning. Some of these storms could be strong to severe, but are expected to weaken as they arrive.
Weekend Weather Outlook: Severe Weather Possible
As a cold front moves closer on Saturday afternoon, more storms are likely to develop, and some could be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has already placed the Cincinnati area under a risk for severe weather on Saturday. Rain and a few storms may linger into Sunday, accompanied by strong winds. Gusts exceeding 40 mph are possible, even outside of thunderstorms.
Looking ahead, cooler and calmer weather is expected to return early next week following this weekend’s storm system. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the evolving weather situation.
